31 August 2003:  The Times newspaper report of a  league match between Arsenal and Man City says it contained “the worst 45 minutes [by Arsenal] that any of their fans could remember”.   Man City 1 Arsenal 2.  It was the 4th league match of the unbeaten season, but that’s the Times for you.

2011

24 August 2011:  Nasri joins Manchester City on a four-year deal for around £25m.

2014

10 August 2014: Arsenal beat Man City 3-0 at Wembley to win the Community Shield

September’s events…

1992

28 September 1992.  Arsenal 1 Manchester City 0, the first win after 2 draws and 2 defeats, and only the fourth victory of the season after ten games. It was however the start of a six match winning streak.

1995

10 September 1995: Last appearance of Eddie McGoldrick.  Man City 0 Arsenal 1.  After five games Rioch gets his first win as Arsenal manager

1996.

20 September 1996: Eddie McGoldrick sold to Man City for £300,000

2004

25 September 2004:  Defeat of Man City makes it 6 wins and 1 draw in the league.  It was the final match of longest unbeaten away sequence in league football 27 games from 5 April 2003.

2009

12 September 2009: Tomáš Rosický comes on after 51 minutes v Manchester City, marking his return with a goal and an assist.

 

The aftermath

1934

13 October 1934: 68,000 turn up for the home game with Man City

2004

27 October 2004: Almunia and Senderos debuts in league cup match – Man City 1 Arsenal 1.

2005

22 October 2005: After only four wins in the first eight league games Arsenal start a run of four wins in five with defeat of Man City

2010

24 October 2010: Arsenal beat Manchester City away 3-0 to move up to second.
