Your help needed if you know your Arsenal history

by Tony Attwood

I am working with two great friends of this site (Andy Kelly and Mark Andrews) to produce the book WOOLWICH ARSENAL: THE CLUB THAT CHANGED FOOTBALL.

Following discussions with Arsenal FC there is a chance that they will take the book and sell it through their shops and on line – it seems there is a real interest in a book on the early days of the club being published.  Indeed they have already taken “Making the Arsenal” (my book about Arsenal in 1910) so I am hopeful, although nothing is certain until the books are published and in the shop.

I am also writing a regular column in the Arsenal programme this season called Arsenal Uncovered – which I hope you will enjoy.

That is two out of three paragraphs starting with “I” which is not so good.  But I (that word again) really do need your help.  Because on this blog there is an article about Hugh McDonald the Woolwich Arsenal goalkeeper in 1910, who by chance has an important part to play in our history.

If I can find out more about him it would make a good article in the club programme this season and it would also fill a gap in my knowledge about what was going on in 1910.

There’s all the background I have on this page

I do hope you can help – and even if not, that you enjoy the series in the club programme this season.

Thanks.
