In the early days Wanderers and Blackburn both had the distinction of winning the cup three years running, and then winning it twice running.

There was then a gap until the 1950s when the current run of winning it in consecutive years began.

Tottenham and Arsenal have done this twice, Newcastle and Chelsea once each.

Arsenal’s wins in 2014 and 2015 are the first time ever in the 20th and 21st century that a side winning the Cup two years running has scored seven goals in the finals, in doing so.

  1. Why not just say that Arsenal are the only Premier League team that has retained the FA Cup twice?

    That way they get the achievement all to themeselves.
